ANYWAYS, C’EST PAS DE LA POP
This project fully embodies David Campana’s versatile style, with its “urban touch” spanning across a variety of genres while now focusing on a defined pop direction. This approach aims to offer a unique approach to pop within the French-speaking music scene. The common thread of his vocal signature harmoniously unifies these different genres, creating a singular artistic coherence. At the heart of this project are carefully crafted arrangements, captivating melodies, and the use of modern instruments, regardless of the musical style being explored.
POURQUOI TU DOUTES ?
This 9-song project marks a new direction in David Campana’s music career, exploring new sounds with a more pop-oriented production than usual.
“I express myself through a high-pitched voice on Drill productions, blending influences of pop music with a hip-hop aesthetic reminiscent of R&B. The productions have a very American style, but I interpret them in French. I also address themes of conscious pop songs.” – David Campana
DEALER DE LOVE
A 28-track mixtape created in collaboration with producer and director Majosty. Through his musical choices, the artist demonstrates with this mixtape that his love for trap is genuine and that his goal is not to provide a product that already exists in the market. He aims to deliver a sound that is both unique and trendy.
ZUM ZUM
David Campana teams up with veteran KNLO for a dancehall-influenced track produced by mammouth (known for Aya Nakamura, OBOY, Dope.gng), the French producer behind OBOY’s hit ‘Cabeza’. The two artists exchange verses paying homage to their loved ones, filled with melody and sensuality.
TROP DE LOVE
Produced by Majosty, the seven-track EP bridges the gap between trap soul and cloud rap, incorporating drill influences on some tracks and R&B on others. It introduces a more direct and darker David Campana, unafraid to delve into personal themes such as pursuing his dreams as an artist, self-confidence, the desire to stand out, determination, and sacrifice.
BONJOUR, HI
With this project, David Campana’s arrival on the music scene is refreshing, as his musical approach seems unique in Quebec while it has become the norm globally in pop music. Mixing danceable rhythms, rap, R&B, and pop, the young Montrealer aligns with an international aesthetic akin to The Weeknd, Drake, and Travis Scott, to name a few heavyweights.
